Industry Innovation Session:
Reuse & Recycling
SFA's Industry Innovation Sessions bring together the system of actors who have the power to influence the development of the clothing, textile and footwear industries in Sweden.
The goal of these sessions is to identify what options and actions need to be taken to accelerate business innovation towards a sustainable clothing, textile and footwear sector.
During these sessions we aim to 1) identify what obstacles prevent more rapid progress in the industry; 2) highlight what opportunities there are for industry innovation; and 3) enhance industry and cross sector collaboration.
On March 30, 2010 SFA hosted an Industry Innovation Session with a focus on Reuse and Recycling: Buried Treasure - Can the Reuse & Recycling of Clothing & Textiles in Sweden Lead to Better Environmental Performance in the Industry?
The purpose of the session was to explore how to unlock the potential of reuse and recycling of clothing and textiles in Sweden in order to improve the sector's environmental, social and economic performance.
More than 80 persons from the industry attended the session, representing research organizations, large and small companies, civil society organizations, charity organizations, government and municipal representatives, and branch organizations.
